DJ CRINGEY
• South, Central & North America
Born in New Zealand, based in Berlin. DJ Cringey blends all things electronic, with her take on a
melting pot of techno, acid, EBM and house, creating experimental subgenres with eclectic
vocals.
Cringey started out her journey into music DJ’ing at house parties, mixing genres in a ‘cringe’
way that people had never heard before, but people liked it and her alias took form. A style of
mixing she continues to stand by today, she cares a lot about her track selections, to make sure
she always creates a unique experience on the dancefloor. “The key is to not take yourself too
seriously” she adds.
Drawing influences from Charlie XCX, Gabriette and Victoria De Angelis for her style both
aesthetically and musically, she aims to give off a bold, edgy and somewhat mysterious yet fun
vibe.
Release wise, her ‘Acid Base Reaction’ single was one of her most notable to date, a
collaboration with KYANU and Mika Heggerman on Playbox in July, followed multiple releases
on Bamboo, including her debut album ‘Cringey Core’ released in March. A 9 track LP featuring
collaborations with Fanny, DJ Kirby, Sky Leon and Polizei. The tracks were all produced during
an emotionally intense phase, a way to channel her feelings and learn more about herself as an
artist. A aim? To make music that's raw and honest and hope that people connect on a deeper
level.
Her next release, she wants a challenge, to merge the underground world of dance with rap
music. ‘Don’t Date Rappers’ will be released later this summer and brings together techno
producers and German rap artists.
As a key artist on Teletech’s line ups, shes played their XXL Malta festival earlier this year, Feel
Festival for 3 years running, Hive Festival, Frauenfeld Festival, RSO Berlin, Rotte Sonne and
PAN club. 2025 promises to deliver with her ADE debut, BCCO Berlin’s weekender event in
Berlin, Pangea Festival and Emerge Festival’s afterparty in Belfast.
